ALEX & DAVID | 8.21.2022
Alex and David tied the knot in August of 2022 right on the water in Portland, Maine. If you follow the blog, you probably remember their absolutely stunning engagement session at the Washington National Cathedral. I knew from the second they decided to reach out and book me that we would take the most beautiful, stylish, intimate & meaningful photographs together - because these two are such beautiful souls inside and out.
It was truly such an honor to document this special event for Alex - my old college / Alpha Kappa Phi sister, and David - a new friend I met at the engagement session. I love the way these two love eachother - they are so kind and respectful to eachother, so supportive, and are just so obviously the perfect match in every single way.
This day was seriously the most gorgeous wedding day with the most beautiful couple inside and out; Alex and David planned their incredible destination wedding that was both elegant and understated, filled with meaningful moments, and SO. MUCH. LOVE. We started out with off-site getting ready pictures, followed by a first look on a dock surrounded by sailboats. One sailboat owner was so moved by A + D's first look that she came out and offered the deck of her ship to us as a photo location and it was... *cries in photographer*... chef's kiss.
After those portraits, we went straight to the venue for some formal group shots and get the ceremony rolling. Their ceremony was so sweet - as beautiful as it was emotional, and we were even treated to some puppy-love in the form of A + D's beloved daschunds, Jasper & Beau.
The rest of the day was just as perfect as the start of it - an elegant cocktail hour, golden sunset portraits, great speeches, and groovin dance floor... this was truly one of my favorite events I've ever photographed, and these two were one of the sweetest couples I've ever had the privilege of working with.
As Alex said during her heartfelt self-written vows to David: "I feel lucky to know you" - and I feel lucky to know both of you as well. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture every perfect moment of this amazing day.
